an object looks red when seen through a piece of red glass. what is the actual colour of the object?

The object must be yellow or light orange in color.

There are many different shades of red.

If the "red" of the object and the glass are the same frequency, then the object would have no apparent color.

If we are talking about two different shades of red, then the object would have a slight apparent color. What that color would be depends on which frequencies are being emitted by the object and which frequencies are being filtered by the glass.
