Chapter 4 - Structure of the Atom

On the basis of Thomson's model of an atom, explain how the atom is neutral as a whole.

According to  thomson's  he make a pie pudding  or a atom which is spherical in shape he shows that the  the atoms have electrons  and protons which are embaded in it electrones have -ve chagrge while proton have + ve charge  these are equal  in the sphere means number of proton = number of electrons  so these proton and electron makes the atom nutral because number of proton = number of electron which makes the charge on atom zero eg if a atom have 1 proton or we can say + q  and 1 electron  - q the net charge on the sphere is zero  so the atom is neutral
