A 2 digit is such that the product of its digits is 20.if 9 is added to the number the digits interchange their places find the number. with all the steps



Let the digits of the 2nos. be x and y respectively....x is the digit in the tens place and y in the units place....from the first statement we get : x*y=20...............(i)
and from the second statement we find: 10*x +y =20 ......................(ii)
on solving (i) and (ii) ....
u will get x=4 and y=5
so the answer is 45

let x= once digit and y is tenth digit.
Then , number is 10y+x
So, if the digits interchange their places, then the number is 10x+y
xy=20 ....(i)
or 9x-9y=9
or x-y=1 ..(ii)
From (i) and (ii) , we get
x=4 or 5 , but as x-y=1 , then x=5 and y=4
The number is 45.
thats what i did!! instead of fully solving it....i gave the equations!!
