1. Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi was born on 2 October 1869 in Porbandar in Gujarat.

2. His father name was Karamchand Gandhi and he was a diwan of Porbandar estate.

3. His mother was Putlibai who was the 4th wife of Kramchand Gandhi. His first three wifes were dead earlier.

4.In May 1883, the 13-year-old Mohandas was married to 14-year-old Kasturba Gandhi.
