Glass, ebonite they being non-metals lacks free electrons, hence they can not conduct electricity. if i am write then my question is how it get charged on rubbing with each other?i mean on the electrons of their outer orbital the nuclear attraction must be high enough and to overcome that high level of energy should be required.but practically with the trace amount of energy as produced in rubbing accomplishes the work.how it is possible???
