Saliva is present in our mouth.
1. It moistens and lubricates the internal lining of buccal cavity(mouth) and tongue to facilitate swallowing and speaking smoothly.

3. It contains two enzymes i.e. Salivary amylase or Ptyalin and Maltase to digest Starch and Maltose.
4. It cleans the mouth and also destroys bacteria to prevent tooth decay.
