Stanley's parents give him some pocket money every week. He spent 1/4 of the money on food and 1/6 of it on transport. What fraction of his money had he left?

Solution:
            Let Stanley's weekly Pocket Money = x
     Therefore the fraction of money he saves in a week = x - 1/4x - 1/6x
                                                                               = x(1-1/4-1/6)
                                                                               = x (1 -(1/4 + 1/6))
                                                                               = x (1 - (6+4/6*4))
                                                                               = x(1- 10/24)
                                                                               = x(24 -10/24)
                                                                               = x(14/24)
                                                                               =x(7/12)
                                                                               = (7/12)x

Hope this helps You!!!
