An aeroplane goes 400 m in north then 300 m in west and then vertically upward 1200m then find the travel distance from its origin.

From it's point of origin it went 400m northwards. So now, the distance is 400m.
Then, it went 300m westward, leaving us with the distance being (400+300=700).
Then it went 1200m upward. That leaves with 1900m.

The answer is 1900
