Generally electron affinity is the amount of energy released when an electron is added to an atom.
Therefore higher electron affinity results in the formation of anion .Hence we can say the elements having high electron affinity favours the formation of ionic compound.

An element releases large amount of energy and forms the anion , only when its anionic state is more stable than its elemental state.
all right thanks
Did u understand ?

but higher electron affinity means more energy. so how more energy favours formatin. instead lower electron affinity should favour it
