How does a fuse works and help us to live happily?

A fuse is a safety device which cuts the flow of electricity when current exceeds the safe limit. It is made up of a special wire known as nichrome wire whose melting point is low. Now,if the current exceeds the safe limit or when many appliances are plugged to a single socket the wire in the fuse starts heating up.And as told above that melting point of wire used in fuse is low, it melts. Thus,it breaks the circuit and prevents fire and the damage to electrical appliances.
