In a right angled triangle , the three sides ,i.e. the perpendicular(P) , base (B) and Hypotenuse(H) give us 6 trigonometrical ratios or identities.These are:
Sine (sin)= \frac{P}{H}
Cosine (cos)= \frac{B}{H}
Tangent (tan)= \frac{P}{B}
The above are the standard ratios , the ones given below are the reciprocal ratios:
Secant (sec)= \frac{H}{P}
Cosecant (cosec)= \frac{H}{B}
Cotagent (cot)= \frac{B}{P}
sinФ * secФ = 1
cos Ф* cosecФ=1
tanФ* cotФ=1
