Two forces F1 and F2 of magnitude 5N each inclined to each other at 60 degree, act on the body . Find the resultant force acting on the body .

I F1 + F2 I = sqrt( f1^2 + f2^2 + 2f1f2cos60)
                    sqrt( 25 +25 + 2*25*0.5 )
                   = 8.6

your answer is absolutely right can you tell me why if it is given to find resultant of two forces then you have used magnitude for finding resultant ?
that is the procedure
so whenever they ask u to find the resultant , u generally find the magnitude only
thanks , you helped me a lot
