An engineer is designing the runway for an airport. of the planes that will use the airport , the lowest accelaration rate is likely to be 3 m/s2 . the

take off speed for this plane will be 65 m/s . assuming this minimum acceleration , what is the minimum allowed length for the runway ?

This Is a Certified Answer

Certified answers contain reliable, trustworthy information vouched for by a hand-picked team of experts. Brainly has millions of high quality answers, all of them carefully moderated by our most trusted community members, but certified answers are the finest of the finest.
S is the length of the runway.
initial velocity = 0 = u
final velocity = 65 m/s = v
minimum acceleration = a = 3 m/sec²

v = u + a t  =>  t = v/a = 65/3 sec
s = u t + 1/2 a t² = 1/2 * 3 * 65²/3² = 704.6 meters
if the acceleration is more than 3 m/sec,  then s = v² / (2a)    will be shorter.
