In the poem Ozymandias the author Shelley tells us that nothing is immortal. Ozymandias build his statue as a symbol of immortality but only the shattered visage is left behind after the onslaught of time, nothing remains of past grandeur but the bones of a colossal wreck. With time nothing stays mighty but only there words.

Hope this helps :D
