A ladder 10 m long rests against a vertical wall. If the bottom of the ladder slides away from the wall at a rate of 1 m/sec how fast is the top of the

ladder sliding down the wall when the bottom of the ladder is 6 m from the wall ?

Length of ladder=10 m
length of wall after slide = 6m.

using phythagorus theorm,
10 :-10^{2}=X^{2} + 6^{2}

100  =  x^{2} +36
64  =  X^{2}

hence X = 8 m

after 8 sec.
