The power of forgiveness is so wonderful. An inccident which made you realize that forgiveness is nobler than revenge--- ONCE I WAS WALKING THROUGH THE DESERT WITH MY BEST FRIEND . HIS NAME WAS GAUTAM. DURING SOME POINT OF THE JOURNEY WE HAD AN ARGUEMENT AND I SLAPPED GAUTAM . GAUTUM WAS HURT BUT WITHOUT SAYING ANYTHING , HE WROTE IN THE SAND MY BEST FRIEND SLAPPED ME . THEN WE KEPT ON WALKING UNTIL WE FOUND AN OASIS . THEN GAUTUM WENT TO TAKE BATH BUT UNFORTUNATELY HE GOT STRUCK IN THE MIRE AND STARTED DROWNING BUT I SAVED HIM. AFTER HE RECOVERED , HE WROTE ON A STONE : TODAY MY BEST FRIEND SAVED MY LIFE . THEN A QUESTION CAME INTO MY MIND THAT WHY HE WROTE IN THE SAND WHEN I SLAPPED HIM AND WHY HE WROTE ON STONE NOW . THEN I ASKED HIM. HE LOOKED AT ME AND SMILED AND REPLIED - " WHEN SOMEONE HURTS US WE SHOULD WRITE IT IN THE SAND SO THAT WINDS OF FORGIVENESS CAN ERASE IT AWAY . BUT WHEN SOMEONE DOES SOMETHING GOOD FOR US WE MUST ENGRAVE IT IN STONE WHERE WIND CAN'T ERASE IT. AT THAT TIME I REALIZED THAT WE SHOULD FORGIVE EVERYONE BECAUSE FORGIVENESS IS NOBLER THAN REVENGE BECAUSE IF WE TAKE REVENGE WE WILL DESTROY OURSELF AS WELL AS THAT PERSON.
