Melting point is that point at which molecules of solid overcome the intermolecular force of attraction and thereby change into liquid
1 5 1
If there is Vanderwall force of attraction between the molecules(i.e co-valent bond) then the melting point will be low because it is a very weak force.
But if there is coulambic force of attraction (i.e electrovalent bond ) then melting point will be high because it is a very strong force.
