My lost Dollar is one of the inimitable comis stories of Stephen leacock.
In teh story the narrator had lent a dollar to his frnd, about which the latter seems to have forgotten. The narrator often mentions it in his conversations with his friend, in the hope of making him recollect the dept. Finally, he gives up the expection of getting in back. leacock reflects in the story on the incongrities of life as well as human hypocrisy and pretence.
