atom: atom is the smallest part of a chemical substance that can take part in a chemical reaction.examples of atom is the atom of iron which can stay independently.
molecules: some atoms can not stay independently therefore they combine with same type of another atom to be stable.examples of molecules are molecule of hydrogen, molecules of sulphur etc which can not stay stable and therefore they combine with same type of another atom.
