A scooter of mass 120 kg is moving with a uniform velocity of 108km Hr .The force required to stop the vehicle in 10 seconds is ?

mass of the object= 120 kg
initial velocity of the object= 108 km/hr (30 m/s)
final velocity of the object= 0m/s
given time= 10 sec
therefore force,
force= change in momentum/time taken
F= (mv-mu)/t
F= (120*0-120*30)/10
F= (0-3600)/10
F= -3600/10
F= -360 N
 therefore the answer in magnitude is 360N
         i hope that this will help u......................^_^
1 5 1
Initial velocity= 108 km/hr = 30 m/s
Final velocity = 0 m/s
Time = 10 s

Force = Mass x Acceleration
             = mass x v-u/t
              = -360 N

Therefore, to stop the scooter, you need to apply a force of 360N in opposite direction.

Hope it helps...!
