How a solid changes into liquid state on increasing temperature

How a solid changes into liquid state on increasing temperature
see solid change into liquid by the process called melting eg.- put a ice cube outside your house then after five minutes what you see?? - the ice cube melts on its own by the process of melting..

When we supply heat to a solid body, the heat supplied is stored as potential energy in the body. This potential energy helps in increasing the intermolecular space in the body by decreasing the force of attraction between the molecules. As a result ,the intermolecular space increases and the intermolecular attraction decreases thus leading in the change of state of the body,i.e.,from solid state to liquid state.

Hope i helped u:)

How means its simple for example take a solid like ice when we heat it. the attraction between the particles of ice decreases. in a solid the particuls are closely packed then by heating the distance increses and ice is converted into liquid. try this at home. but be careful
