Differences between Linux and Unix OS:

The average price of Unix all around the world is fairly expensive; while, Linux is even cheaper than Windows.

2. Unix OS are manufactured by companies such as Solaris (Oracle), AIX (IBM) & HP-UX Hewlett Packard, and even Apple; Linux was first programmed by Linus Torvalds.

3. Unix OS are mainly designed for mainframe computers, super commputers and devices of that sort; while, Linux can be used by everyone plus, it can be smoothly used on almost any electronic device, though now it is popular mainly on super computers.

4. Unix systems are much complex; Linux is quite user-friendly and it is developed by Open Source development.

UNIX is a copyrighted name so only big companies are allowed to use this. So, IBM AIX, Sun Solaris, HP-UX,USG 1.0,UNIX System III etc. are all UNIX operating systems known worldwide
And talking about Linux it is just a copy of UNIX. it was actually created by Linus Torvalds in 1991.He wrote the program specifically on his hardware he was using and independent of an operating system because he wanted to use the functions of his new PC with an 80386 processor.
