‘A’ scored 12 marks, while B scored 10 marks, in the first terminal examination. If in the second terminal examination (with same total number of marks)

‘A’ scored 14 marks and ‘B’ scored 12 marks, which student showed more improvement?

B's improvement=(new marks-original marks)/original marks *100%
                       = (12-10)/10*100%=20%
A's improvement=(new marks-original marks)/original marks*100%
therefore, B showed more improvement(though the increase in marks is equal, percentage is completely different)
