A piece of brass weighs 175 gf in air and 150gf when fully submerged in water .the density of water is 1.0g cm-3 .what is the volume of the brass piece?

why does the brass piece weigh less in water? old reply fast!!

density of the object in air = 175 g/cm
density of the object in water = 150 g/cm
therefore volume of water displaced = 25 cm
volume of water displaced by the body = volume of the body
therefore 25 cm
³ is the volume of the body .
