Private Quelch was respected and disliked although he was far educated than his fellow soldiers. He didn't spare his seniors as well, who came to deliver lectures to the platoon. He was not appreciated for his condescending nature although he constantly had been right with the facts he gave. He had much connection with existence and far better understanding of technicalities of any matter and tried best understand how, he forgot that his seniors were his seniors and to impress them along with his wisdom. The Sergeant didn't say much to The Profesor; Corporal Turnbull assigned Private Quelch permanent cook house duties to teach lesson to him and didn't lose his opportunity.
