Sw monsoon winds strikes to Himalayas and produces a good rainfall in the northern plains . They does not produce rain in central peninsula because :-
*) sw winds blows towards north  and are obstructed to   flow towards central peninsula due to western ghats 
*) no great natural body is present to obstruct the clouds in central peninsula (main reason for desertification of Rajasthan
