A rainbow is spherical because of the way the rain drops align themselves and also because of the different colors present in them.

A rainbow is formed due to the dispersion, Total Internal Reflection and Refraction which makes the rainbow spherical though we are able to see only the semi part or the semi circular part of the rainbow because of the distance between you and the rainbow is high.
