The battle of waterloo was won on playing field of Eton. The statement justifies the fact that
1) The British believed that real reason which favoured them in  wars was the superior character of its young men built in boarding schools while playing cricket.
2) Eton was one of the famous boarding schools that trained English boys for career in the military,  civil service and church. It saw team sports like cricket not just as outdoor games, but as an organized ways of teaching English boys discipline, the importance of hierarchy, the skills, code of honour and the leadership qualities that helped them build and run the British Empire.
3) It was the superior character of its young men built on playing fields hepled the English to become victorious in battlefield of Waterloo. But the Napoleanic wars were won due to the economic resources of England.
