Distinguish between homologous organs and analogous organs. In which category would you place wings of a bird and wings of a bat? Justify your answer

giving a suitable reason.

Homologous organs are organs of different species which have a similar structure and e same ancestor but are used for different functions
Analogous organs are those which have different structure but are used for the same function

The bird wings are made of feathers and bat wings are made of stretched skin by elongated fingers..Both use their wings for flight. So they have different structure but same function so they are analogous organs

Homologous organs are those that are structurally similar but Functionally different.
Analogous Organs are those that are functionally similar but structurally different.

Wings of bat and bird are analogous organs because they are structurally different, as both either do not have skin or feathers. But they are functionally similar because both of them use the wings only for flight.
