Central boron atom in boric acid is electron deficient .when it added to water boron accept a pair of electron from water and from   (OH)3B <--------+OH2  and oxygen get positively charged and it releases a H+ and from [(OH)4B]-. so boric acid is monobasic acid and the proton is not come from boric acid it come from water.
