We use averages to compare different, countries, regions or states. Since countries have different populations, comparing one person will not likely to tell us what an average person is likely to earn. 

(a) they do not give us the true picture regarding the distribution of home
 (b) Averages do not give us any information regarding the non-materialistic goods and services.
