if the new mass is 2m
the new kinetic energy=1/2*2m*v^2=200

kinetic energy = 1/2 *m *v*v
K.E = 200 J
mass is doubled so,
K.E = 1/2*m*v*v*
200 = 1/2*2m*v*v
200/2 = 1/2*m*v*v
100 = 1/2*m*v*v
therefore the new kinetic energy = 100 J
