Chemical reaction of soap is saponification. Fats are made of triglycerides and three
molecules of fatty acids attach to a single molecule of glycerol. Soaps are made of fats and potassium or sodium hydroxide thus the chemical reaction between any fat and sodium hydroxide (or potassium hydroxide) is a saponification.
