Acids react with bases to form salt and water. These type of reactions are known as neutralisation reactions.

For e.g.

    HCl(aq)       +    NaOH(aq) →      NaCl(aq) +       H₂O(l)
Hydrochloric            Sodium               Sodium          Water
     Acid                    hydroxide             chloride

Another Example,

   H₂SO₄(aq)   +  2KOH(aq)    →    K₂SO₄(aq)   +   2H₂O
Sulphuric          Potassium           Potassium         Water
     Acid                hydroxide            sulphate

 a reaction in which acid react with base to form salt and water is called neutrilization reaction
  e.g    hcl + naoh-----> nacl +h20
     hcl + koh--------> kcl +h20
