sodium and potassium react with air when they're kept in open to reduce or stop them to react kerosene is added.kerosene as you know is an oil and like oil it will float....this will create a layer on the top and hence ,will stop them both from reacting...

Sodium and potassium are highly reactable. They react very fast and react much.they can't be kept in water or left in air as they are highly reactable..if they are kept in water they will just to prevent this they are kept in kerose which controls it and doesn't let to react much.....hope this helps ...pls mrk as brainliest...
