For any motion of a particle on a plane , how is the relationship between the position vector with the displacement vector ?

Position vector is vector connecting the current position with the Origin. Displacement vector is the vector from previous position to new position.

A particle is at P and moves to P1 and P2 at times 0, 1, 2 seconds respectively,

Then the position vectors at times 0, 1, 2 seconds are: OP, OP1, OP2 respectively.

Displacement vectors at time 1 sec: OP1 - OP = PP1
Displacement vectors at time 2 sec: OP2 - OP1 = P1 P2

Displacement vector is the difference of position vectors.
