History, the subject as such, is based on a lot of hypothetical statements and theories. It is not fair to expect evidence for every historical event because there are many significant events which happened millions of years ago. Not just television programmes, even history related books hypothetically say the occurrence of many events based on assumptions. As long as they don't "assume" too many events I think television programmes on history should definitely be encouraged.
