A boy aims at a bird from a point at a horizontal distance of 100m. the gun can impart a velocity of 500 m/s to the bullet. at what height above the bird

must he aim his gun in order to hit?

Look the horizontal distance in 100 m... the velocity is 500 m/s so the condition is that it hits to time is immaterial... so the slant height is 500 . now using Pythagoras theorem the height would be 200 rt 6 which is 488m
