Let us say the numbers are x and y where x is the smaller of the two.
4x=3y, x=3y/4
Substituting, we get- 3y/4+y=52. This can be written as: 3y/4+4y/4=52.
Hence, 7y/4=52, in which case, 7y=208. dividing, we get y=29.7. Therefore x=3*29.7/4 .
Ans:- x= 22.2
