India, once, a bird of gold, albeit developed and made its presence in almost
all the sectors. We were subjugated but we fought back. If we look at the
history of literacy rates, we improved a lot almost providing the best among
the neighbouring nations with some states showing as high as 100 per cent.
Despite all the efforts and various plans made at the government level,
poverty haunts us and simply slows down the rate of improvement.
