Some times you use  the word "kids" without an article.  Some times you use an article.  If at all you have to use an article you use "the".  Some times we use "some", "any of", "none of" , "some of ".

1) Kids are children below 8 years.
2) There are three kids at my home.  The kids are mischievous.
3)  The kids going to this xxxxx school, have a holiday today.
