Two trains start at the same time from two stations and proceed towards each other with speeds 40km/hr and 45 km/hr respectively.When they meet,it is found

that one train has travelled 40 km more than the other.Find the distance between the two stations.

The Brainliest Answer!
distance traveled by the 40 km /hr train=x
the distance traveled by 45 km /hr train =x+40
let t be the meeting time
x=40t (1)
x+40=45t (2)
by substituting we get t=8
x=320 km(1st case
x+40=360 km(2ndcase)
360+320=680 km
so the two stations are 680 km apart
