THESE THREE TERMS ARE RELATED WITH PRINCIPLES OF INHERITANCE AND  VARIATION .

BY TAKING SOME EXAMPLES WE COULD UNDERSTAND THESE TERMS IN BETTER WAY .LIKE CONSIDERING MENDEL'S HYBRIDISATION EXPERIMENTS.

FIRSTLY , MENDEL IN HIS EXPERIMENTS SELECTED PLANTS ON THE BASIS OF CHARACTERS LIKE STEM HEIGHT ,FLOWER COLOR , SEED SHAPE ,POD SHAPE , POD COLOR , SEED COLOUR , FLOWER POSITION .....

FOR EVERY CHARACTER THERE ARE TWO CONTRASTING TRAITS LIKE IT CAN BE EITHER DOMINANT OR RECESSIVE TRAIT ........I M NOT TAKING EXAMPLES EVERY SEVEN CHARACTER I HAVE MENTIONED ...............................CONSIDER STEM HEIGHT .........DOMINANT TRAIT  IS TALLNESS AND RECESSIVE TRAIT IS DWARFNESS..........

MENDEL PROPOSED THAT SOMETHING WAS BEING STABLY PASSED DOWN UNCHANGED FROM PARENTS TO OFFSPRING THROUGH THE GAMETES OVER SUCCESSIVE GENERATIONS . HE CALLED THESE THINGS AS "FACTORS". NOW KNOWN AS GENES WHICH IS THE UNIT OF INHERITANCE.

THANK YOU

CHARACTER: A quality indicative of the nature of an object or an organism.
TRAIT:A distinguishing characteristic or quality, especially of one's personal nature.
FACTOR:Factor is nothing but GENE
A portion of a DNA molecule that serves as the basic unit of heridity.Gene controls the characteristics than an offsrings will have by transmitting information in the sequence of nucleotides on short sections of DNA.
