Coleoptile is a pointed sheath that cover plumule in a seed. It comes out from the soil, turns green and performs photosynthesis. Whereas, coleorrhiza is asheath that cover radicle in a seed.It remains inside the soil and is non-green in colour...........................................

 the  sharp or pointed  sheath that cover plumule(the bud of the ascending axis of a plant) in a seed is called Coleoptile
