Convectional  currents  refers  to  a  form  of  low   to  high  speed  winds  on  earth  and  also  one  of  the  many  forms  of  convection  on  earth .They  form  due  to  an  increase  in  temperature  in  an  enclosed  space  in  which  a  fluid  is  located. As  warmer  fluid  moves  to  the  top  the  cooler  fluid  moves  to  the  bottom. This  is  the term    meaning  in  geography. Here's  how  the  thing  actually  works. The  energy  reaches  at  the  top  of  the  convection  cell  and  it  releases  as  much  of  energy  as  it  can  and  then  sinks  to  the  bottom. At  this  point  itself  it  gets  hot  again  and  the  whole  convection  current  starts  again.

The movement caused within a fluid by the tendency of hotter and therefore less dense material to rise, and colder, denser material to sink under the influence of gravity, which consequently results in transfer of heat. This led to current which are called convectional current.
