Britta bought some carrots and apples for $24.80. A carrot and an apple cost $0.90 together. She bought more carrots than apples. The cost of the extra

number of carrots was $6.80. How any apples did Britta buy?

The cost of all the items was $24.80

cost of extra carrots=$6.80
so $24.80-$6.80=$18.00 is the cost of the equal no of apples and carrots
means x apples+( the same number of carrots)x carrots=$18.00
given the cost of an apple+a carrot=$0.90
in $18 we will get=18/0.90=20 apples and 20 carrots
so she bought 20 apples
