ARCHIMEDES PRINCIPLE :- when an object is immersed partially or fully in a fluid, the upthrust experienced by it is equal to the weight of the fluid displaced by it. The upthrust experienced by an object depends on the density of the liquid. Higher the density, higher will be the upthrust on that object. As sea water contains salt in it which increases its density, we experience a greater upthrust on our body than the river water and thus find it easier to swim in sea water
