1)dodder(genus cuscutta)is a leaf less plant belonging to the family of Morning glory.
2)the plant does not contain chlorophyl land it absorbs nutrients from the host plant through specialised structures called Haustoria
3)the seed of the plant germinates,forming an anchoring root and sends up a slender stem which grows in spirals until it find a host plant and twines around it.the plant forms haustoria which penetrates the host plant
4)the haustoria draw water and nutrients from the host plant's xylem and phloem respectively....

Cuscuta is a parasitic plant which is in many colors like red , yellow bt rarely in green color.After it attaches to a Plant or tree... it surrounds all around the plant and it takes all the nutrition of the plant .. Even  it covers the plant from all around.
