Factor of x³ + x² +x +1 is (x² +1)(x + 1)
hence real root of the equation x³ + x² + x +1 = 0 is 
(x²+1)(x+1) = 0
x+1 = 0
x = -1
equation x² + x + m = 0 have common factor hence  x = -1 satisfy 
(-1)² + (-1) + m = 0
m = 0
hence factor of x² + x is x(x+1)
both equation have common factor (x+1).
