x+y = 58
x-y = 28
by adding both equations,
x+y+x-y = 58+28
2x = 86
x = 43
by subtracting 1 and 2
x+y-(x-y) = 58-28
x+y-x+y = 30
2y = 30
y = 15
therefore the 2 numbers are 43,15

Let the numbers be x and y
x+y=58
x-y=28
add these both expressions
x+y=58
x-y=28
=2x=86
y becomes zero because any number with + and - is zero so i did not mention it
then x=86 divided by 2=43
so x=43
x+y=58
43+y=58
y=58-43=15
therefore these are the two numbers
